Testimonials and References
ur dedication to quality and customer satisfaction has earned us a stellar reputation among geothermal companies in Vancouver and the Island.
If you are currently comparing Vancouver or Vancouver Island geothermal companies for your upcoming project and would like to check our references, we will be pleased to send you a list of clients (homeowners and building contractors) we’ve worked with.
Here is what our customers say about us:
Dear Jeremy,
Our company has been constructing homes on Salt Spring Island, BC for over 40 years. Finding quality sub-trades on the Gulf Islands can be challenging at times. Over the past few years, we have had the good fortune to work with exchangenergy to serve our Geo-Thermal heating needs.
We find that exchangenergy is honest, provides high quality installation and service in a timely fashion at a fair price. This latter point must be strongly emphasized. When the building industry was extremely busy here in 2007 & 2008, we found that many sub-contractors were taking advantage of the escalated market conditions to unfairly charge exorbitant rates for their services. exchangenergy on the other hand, kept their pricing fair, and maintained their excellent quality of work.
This kind of integrity is difficult to find these days. Congratulations to you for operating your business in such an outstanding professional manner.
I would be pleased to recommend your firm to anyone seeking a quality heating contractor and I look forward to working with you again soon.
Yours truly,
Perry Booth

Dear Fred and Jeremy,
Thanks for the excellent work you’ve done installing geothermal heating in our home.
exchangenergy did the total installation of our Ocean Loop geothermal system and they have been extremely responsible in every way during the construction and installation phases. The total system consists of the Ocean Loop, the Heat Pump, Underfloor Heating pipes in four zones, towel warmers, and domestic hot water heater. This complex set of demands was installed with great professionalism and diligence.
We are now reaping the benefits of geothermal technology with every monthly utility bill. We now realize a reduction of 60% for all bills and our conservative estimate of the actual heating component is 80% LESS than traditional sources of heat – oil, gas and electric. In addition, in our experience, the heat produced is much more pleasant and unobtrusive than any other form of heat we have used.
We would recommend the geothermal option to anyone where such an installation is possible, and furthermore highly recommend the company ‘exchangenergy’ as your preferred contractor. Please feel free to e-mail us if you want more information! We can reached at:

My wife and I have just completed our new three story, 3000 square foot house and detached two storey1100 square foot garage/workshop/studio building. As owner/builders (i..e we were our own General Contractor) we were involved on a hands-on basis on the entire project.
We decided from the outset that we would use geothermal heat and, where possible, in-floor radiant heating. Our research showed that this would cut our ongoing hydro bills by more than 50% from the start, and more as hydro rates inevitably escalate, and would also provide the best quality of heat in our living spaces.
We selected exchangenergy to be our geothermal system contractor after carefully checking out recommendations from local plumbing contractors, visiting a local installation by another contractor, and checking references. What attracted us about exchangenergy was their strong references and, after meeting the principals (Jeremy and Fred), we were impressed by their mix of skills and experience (engineering, electrical and plumbing) and by the fact that geothermal systems are their sole focus. This turned out to be a very good decision and we are very happy with the result.
Our system includes an ocean loop, radiant infloor heating on two floors of our house (with 8 control zones), radiant infloor heating on both floors of the detached garage/studio building (with an insulated hot water supply from the heat pump in the house and 2 control zones), and a domestic hot water preheat system.
The installation work required a lot of trips up here from Vancouver and a lot of hand holding with our plumbing contractor who installed the radiant heat piping. Despite this exchangenergy stuck with the agreed price and never nit picked us with extra charges or travel expenses. The installation was very well done with a lot of thought given to the quality of materials, to the efficiency of the electrical control system, and to the overall maintainability of the system. We will he happy to answer questions from anyone contemplating hiring exchangenergy:
